Our Story

We come from worlds apart. Our childhoods could not have been more different.  Monica was born in Jersey, bred in New York City and raised by a fun, and at times, loud South American immigrant family!  Nathan is a clean-cut country boy from the Midwest, who learned the values of hard work at an early age and actually knows what a hay ride feels like!

All kidding aside, only God could have brought us together. Nine years ago, we met at a bible study. Monica was just coming back to her faith and Nathan was searching for a Catholic community after just having moved to New York City to start a career in architecture.  The two of us hit off instantly, became friends and began dating just four months after we met. Six months after that, we got engaged. A year later, we were married! We were and are like pieces of a puzzle, although so different in shape and size, together we have blended with ease.

Once wed, we couldn’t wait to make little Nathan and Monica hybrids! One year passed, then another, and another. Then we endured one stressful medical test after another, grueling treatments, and even surgery.  Once we painfully discovered that having our own genetic children would be nearly impossible, we took a time out.

We traveled, worked, played and passionately served a large young adult ministry in our Church. During this pivotal time, we could have been torn apart by the stress and sadness, but instead we mourned our loss together and gained a deeper love for each other. Out of that love, a stronger conviction to become parents grew.  God truly makes all things new, and He certainly made our desire brand new, and brought it to another level; Adoption!

Through the heartache of infertility, our hearts have been stretched, giving us the capacity to offer unconditional love to any children God hand picks for us to parent through adoption. We believe the call to adopt is truly special and feel honored that we have been chosen to form our family in such a unique way.

Thank you for reading our story and sharing in our adoption journey. Please keep us, our future children, and all those involved in the loving process of adoption in your prayers.  May God bless you abundantly!
